The duo of Steve Overland and Tommy Denander have combined to create an album that was sitting there waiting to be recorded. That’s fine, it is what it is, but unfortunately it’s not for me.

Background
Always a big draw card for melodic rockers is Steve Overland, particularly with his band FM (UK). He continues to release a bundle of side projects on Escape Music including Shadowman and Overland, the latter of which has released this latest effort ‘Scandalous’.
The Songs
I don’t like to say it, but this album did absolutely nothing for me in terms of attraction and ultimately attention. The overly blues direction taken on this effort killed any appeal it might have had from the outset, because the announcement of a new Overland album is usually something I look forward to.
I got bored with this album rather quickly, as soon as the lead track ‘Don’t Give Up’ came into hearing range. Things got worse as it went on, so it was hit the skip button for the most part.
In Summary
The duo of Steve Overland and Tommy Denander have combined to create an album that was sitting there waiting to be recorded. That’s fine, it is what it is, but unfortunately it’s not for me.
